Welcome to Motherhood is a Mother, Hi! My name is Jen Murphy.
My pregnancy and postpartum experience were basically a constant google search. I was reading all of the books, articles, and newsletters I could to understand what was happening to my body and with my baby. I’m a natural-born researcher (thanks, anxiety), and I love to read. Yes, basically, I’m a huge nerd. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Master’s in Public Administration, so understanding and researching people have always been my focus. I’m really excited to talk about topics that not only were relevant to me in my experience as a newly pregnant person/first-time mom, but I hope will be relevant to you too.
Pregnancy and motherhood can be lonely experiences. I hope to help make moms’ lives a little easier by sharing what I learn through my reading journey and I’ll also share my own experiences here and there along the way because I don’t want anyone to ever feel as alone as I felt.
I hope you’ll join me in my BOOK CLUB as I read parenting and relationship-focused books and drill down on the most important takeaways. I’ll be posting those here and have podcast episodes at the Motherhood is a Mother podcast!
